The Lobi ethnic group lives in the junction of the borders of Burkina Faso,
Ghana and Ivory Coast. ( see map).

Its quarrelsome character protected a long time from the external influences. It could develop its characteristic statuary thus impresses traditions animists of the worship of the ancestors representing the spirits of nature called thil.

The majority of their work are out of ground, out of wood, but also out of iron and bronze and can be various sizes.
